Movement, exercise and learning

Taking a movement or exercise break when learning or studying is important to help with learning.


When you are doing these activities - as well as during sleep or day dreaming - you are using a different part of your brain.


This is called a 'diffused state', where your mind is able to wander and have the space and freedom to make sense of the things you have just learned and link them together with similar ideas.
